Our Story
We met in 2017 as two ships passing.
We were performers for Disney Cruise Lines, paired together as dance partners. If you haven't seen the picture of us dressed as "adult" versions of Cruella Deville and Captain Hook, get on that. It was an almost instantaneous connection between us, but the timing was off, so we went our separate ways, but not in mind.
Two years later, Sarah was at Tokyo Disney, performing as Ariel from "The Little Mermaid," and I was living in New York City.
Despite having little contact since the ship, she agreed to a spontaneous visit from me, and a day into the trip I asked her to be my girlfriend. It's good she said, "Yes," or I would've had one heck of a walk home.
Four wonderful years later, Sarah said 'yes' to me again, only this time it was at the New York Renaissance Festival, and I was asking her to marry me. The costume theme that weekend was "pirates," so we were both dressed in ruffled shirts and eye patches and, in my humble opinion, it was all rather fitting.
Between where we'd first met and the oceans we crossed to reunite with one another, it was the perfect ending to our high-seas romance: a tale of two ships, once passing, now sailing together.
